The Merchant City underwent massive regeneration during the 1980's when many of the merchant's warehouses were transformed into this upmarket and unique historical district of Glasgow. The area is renowned for its selection of hotels, restaurants, cafés, designer outlets, upmarket apartments, trendy offices and first class educational facilities all within a short walking distance of the main public transportation systems. The ITREZ development will have a significant impact on this, already transformed, area of Glasgow city centre.
There are two mainline stations nearby - Central and Queen Street. London is accessible in 4.5 hours by direct train. Glasgow has its own underground system and a major bus terminus right in the city centre - Scotland has no better connected City.
